It started with an envelope
Someone's leaving. Someone's getting married. Someone just had a baby. And someone — usually the same long-suffering someone — is walking a battered envelope around the office, chasing people who "left their wallet at home", and guessing how much is inside before the card gets passed around at 4pm on a Friday.
Half the team is remote now. Nobody carries cash. The card arrives with three signatures squeezed into one corner. We thought the whole ritual deserved better — so we built it.
Hey Friday lets anyone start a collection in a couple of minutes, share one link, and collect contributions and messages from colleagues wherever they are. When it closes, the recipient gets the pot their way — gift cards from 100+ UK brands or a bank transfer — along with everyone's messages, online or printed in a proper card through the letterbox.
What we believe
Fair, boring pricing.Free to create a collection, 1.9% + 20p per contribution, and that's it. No tip prompts, no withdrawal fees, no forcing the recipient into one gift card — and a full year to spend the pot before any inactivity fee applies. The maths is on our pricing page next to everyone else's.
The moment matters more than the money. A collection is really a pile of well-wishes with a gift attached. Messages, GIFs, stickers, and printed cards aren't add-ons for us — they're the point.
Trust is earned with plumbing. Card payments are processed by regulated payment partners, every payment is screened for fraud, and we verify identities before money moves. The details are on our trust & security page.
Built in London
Hey Friday Ltd is registered in England and built in London — mostly fuelled by flat whites, occasionally by leaving-do cake. If you want to say hello, we're at hello@heyfriday.co.uk.
