Cookie Policy
Last updated: 18 April 2026
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies like local storage and pixels. This policy covers all of them collectively as “cookies”.
You can update your choices at any time: .
2. Categories we use
Essential (always on)
Required for the site to work. These can’t be turned off because the site would break without them.
- Authentication and session — keeping you signed in (Supabase).
- Payment sessions — securely processing contributions (Stripe).
- Fraud prevention — device fingerprinting to spot suspicious activity (FingerprintJS).
- Customer support — the chat widget so you can talk to us (Intercom).
- Error monitoring — anonymous crash reports so we can fix bugs (Sentry).
- Consent record — remembering the choices you made on this page.
Analytics
Helps us understand which features people use, so we can make Hey Friday better. We don’t use these to identify you personally or sell data.
- Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics — aggregate page views and feature usage.
- Vercel Analytics — privacy-friendly traffic and performance stats.
- PostHog — which parts of a collection people actually use, and where they get stuck. Hosted in the EU. If you have an account we tag your visits with your account’s ID so they join up across devices; we don’t send your name or email.
Marketing
Used to show Hey Friday to people who might enjoy it. Off by default unless you accept.
- Conversion tracking — measures whether ads led to a collection being created.
- Google click ID — if you arrive from a Google ad, we store the ad’s click identifier for up to 90 days so we can tell Google that the ad worked. It’s never used to build a profile of you or shared with anyone else.
- Matching your sign-up to an ad — when you create an account, we send Google a scrambled (one-way hashed) version of your email address and name so it can tell that the ad it showed you led to a sign-up. Your actual email address never leaves your browser, and we only ever do this with your own details, never a colleague’s. If you don’t accept this category, none of it is sent.
3. Managing your choices
You can change your cookie choices at any time using the link in the footer or the button above. Your choices are stored locally in your browser, so you may need to set them again on a new device.
Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Note that doing so may break parts of the Platform that rely on essential cookies (signing in, payment, fraud checks).
4. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. For substantial changes we’ll surface them in-app.
